About school

The LINES Downe House School was founded in 1995 in Berkshire, in the small homeland of the current Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton. Downe House is one of the most prestigious private boarding schools in the UK (top 30). The school is located in the picturesque village of Cold Ash and occupies a territory of 110 acres, which also includes a forest area. Downe House is a 45-minute drive from Oxford and Heathrow Airport and an hour's drive from London. The distinguishing feature of this school LINES is that it is a guesthouse: a closed educational institution with private access. With this in mind, LINES Downe House assumes full responsibility for the safety and well-being of students. The school offers an intensive language program. During the course of study there is a strict rule: you can communicate only in English, which provides full immersion in the language environment and productive learning. In order to better monitor the progress of students, classes are held in small groups (up to 10 people). The Downe House school has a professional teaching staff, with 4 students allocated for each teacher, which will allow to pay sufficient attention to each of them. The school offers excursions among the week (included in the total price) and on weekends, numerous sports, musical and artistic evening clubs (basketball, swimming, zumba, archery) art and handicraft), a visit to a musical in the West End. The total price includes full board (three meals a day and accommodation).
